On Saturday I finshed the tip of the mitten and all I had left to do on Sunday was knit the thumb.  On Sunday I removed the waste yarn for the peasant thumb and picked up the stitches.  I knit about an inch on the thumb and then I saw it---a dropped stitch way down at the base of the thumb. I visited another yarn shop about 30 minutes from home, and lo and behold, they not only had a ball of apple green Cashcotton DK, but even the same dye lot!  So Deli got her ties and they match perfectly.  She's had a bath and is blocked.  Laid out flat like that, the sweater looks like it would fit an elephant.  But it's actually a size small for my daughter, who wears size 6. It's nice to knit for someone who appreciates it.  The pattern is from SocksSocksSocks, edited by Elaine Rowley.  I used Opal sock yarn in shade 29.
